I have allready posted my best pictures, long pictures and a whole bunch of other thoughts about my trip to finland. Nevertheless i do not want to hold back the little masterpiece that Bene has put together of his and my media collections of finland. Thanks to his brilliant new sony camera and my rugged photo specialist we captured a pretty nice trip through helsinki, espoo and turku. Props to a really great video! Please post a nice comment on his page for this one!
Panoramic Pictures of the European Cultural Capitol
As I have stated before my brand new passion are panoramic pictures. For starters my depicted motives have mostly been slow-moving objects like architecture. Later on I have realized, that moving objects might be good for panoramas as well. A couple of days ago I spent the weekend in the European Cultural Capitol 2011 – Turku. Watching the BMX bikers was fascinating but difficult to capture – until I realised that my new passion might actually help me this time. After 40 minutes for each picture I am quite glad with the results. Thanks for amazing jumps and patient friends who let me keep every angle of these artists.
Designing in 2011
Hyvää Suomi!
I just came back from finland this morning. After 4 intensive days in Helsinki and Turku we arrived before our first lecture at 8 am in Munich. After waking up with five cell phones and ten alarms, Maria brought Bene and me to the airport. After some luxurious 1.5h of sleep at night and extensive 2h on the plane the study day was a bit rough. Now, that I am finished I have rewarded myself with a little photo wrap up of the last days – may you enjoy it as much as I do! Thanks to every fin, german, and exchange students that has been a part of my last four days. Extensive descriptions will soon be given, and have already been posted a little bit on Benes Blog. If you want to have the full schedule you can also look through my planning blog post.
Ich packe meinen Koffer ..
Every once in a while..
.. you have a happy moment. I am not depressed in daily life but as a photographer i am a little bit different. I am still a bloody amateur and most of my work as a photographer is based around trial and error. Last saturday I was on a small job for my student union to cover a leisure game of beach volleyball. Shooting around in dim artificial light was a relieve after learning most of the day before. Still most of the results were not really what i was looking for. Even though i had two SLR cameras, three good lenses and a laptop i felt overequipped but not really joyful about my pictures. After a little while (1272 pictures to be exact) i had my moment of true gratification:
A good picture.
Thank you Bene!
Treasurehunt 2011
As last year we have started once again a Treasurehunt for all interntional students of munich. Goal of this competition for the students is to get to know each other, german student, munich and germany a little better than they usually would have. Goal for the Tutors was (as every year) to see once exchange students in the most ridiculous poses we could think of. All in all a mighty nice day with only a little bit of rain.
Thanks to the Organisation Team, Tutors and Exchange Students for some nice hours on a Saturday Afternoon.
Finland Travell Schedule
Travelling is supposed to a spontaneous and relaxing activity – This might be the case, but judging by the messages, requests and proposed activities I received from my finish friends since I announced my comeback to Finland I am in deep trouble. Accordingly I have drafted a loose plan which can be a guideline for everyone that wants to see me next weekend in Finland.
- Do you want to come along for one of the activities?
- Do you have other activities I forgot and have to be put into my schedule?
- What should I bring you from germany that makes you happy?
HM Kino Panorama
Ok, I know that some people already think, that I spend too few time behind the camera and too much in front of my computer. But truth be told, I actually do not like to spend time in front of the computer. I hate it! The only reason I use Photoshop is to create pictures that a camera can not capture and visualize the ideas that are already in my head – to create the physically impossible. One of those things is panoramic pictures – My new fascination. Last night I worked on a picture for Christopher and his student movie theater at my university. Having a pretty good knowledge of what I wanted to shoot I was really happy with the results I received today. This is not really photography any more, but for sure fascinating. Do you have other Ideas for good panorama pictures. What project should I take on next? Ah well – let’s go back to my engineering CAD construction for right now 🙂
